While reliquaries have multiple meanings and uses across global cultural traditions, they are often understood as objects that hold something precious or sentimental. In this one-day workshop, students will learn foundational techniques in metalsmithing: sawing, silver soldering, forming, and texturing to design and create a personal reliquary pendant. Together, artist instructors and students will explore the creative potential of jewelry as something that can be both beautiful and meaningful.
