Forging the Future is the Metal Museum's after-school welding program for high school students. Forging the Future members meet after school on Fridays during the academic year. Together with Metal Studios and Education staff, students learn fundamental welding safety, studio habits, and practice core welding skills. As their skills grow, students will design and build small-scale metal projects, developing a portfolio of work. By the end of the program, students will also have a clearer picture of the steps towards a welding career, including training programs, certifications, apprenticeships, and creative career options in welding and metalwork.
